Sophie Zelmani: My Favourite Singer

Sophie Zelmani is my favourite singer. I nearly like every song of hers. She always keeps such a low profile that we can only get few information but in the 15 years from 1995 to 2010 that she only released 9 ablums including a greatest hit ‘A Decade of Dreams 1995-2005. “I knew I wanted to make a record. That’s all I wanted.” Sophie Zelmani once said. There is something similar between Chinese Pop Queen Faye Wong, which may be why that Faye Wong covered Zelmani’s “Going Home” as “Passenger”.
Sophie Zelmani has continued to record albums while making only a small number of public appearances due to shyness. Zelmani has also contributed music to the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dawson’s Creek. Her cover of Bob Dylan’s “Most Of The Time” appears on the soundtrack to Masked and Anonymous. Her song “Stand By” appeared in the film Independence Day (1996) that features Will Smith whose films I like very much. Actually I don’t know those things before today and am happy to learn that she blends in my life so usually.
I have recommended two songs from Sophie Zelmani: Going Home and Precious Burden. We may have no need to know much more about Sophie Zelmani except her music, but just enjoy the great pleasure and comfort she brings to us.
